About Therapy

Perhaps you are visiting this website because you are feeling:

Anxious

Sad or low

Angry, overwhelmed or confused

Stuck in a pattern that seems to keep repeating

A sense of mismatch in your life

Aware something isn’t right, but can’t put your finger on it

Wanting to understand yourself better

What is Psychotherapy?

The way an event or situation affects us has a unique impact in each of our lives. This may hinder our potential to succeed and enjoy life, work and relationships. Understanding this – making sense of the past and finding a way forward, is what therapy is all about.

Talking to a trained professional, in a confidential setting, creates a safe environment to explore, heal and grow. It can take time, but the insights and developments are enriching for life.

As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, I am trained to help think and talk about the sometimes ordinary, sometimes difficult stuff of life, and to find ways to understand and help you work them through.

Some reasons that people seek counselling or psychotherapy, include but are not limited to:

Anxiety

Anger, unexpected outbursts

Depression, low mood, low self-esteem

Relationship and communication difficulties

Family issues

Parenthood, fertility, mothering, termination, birth trauma

Post natal depression

Sexual abuse

Bereavement and loss

Life and work stress

Issues relating to sexuality and identity
